The subject-matter of the invention is a stackable large container, serving for freight transport, in the form of a horizontal cuboid having fittings by means of which a stacking means for moving the container can be releasably connected thereto and which has centring means with which two such containers, stacked one above the other, are aligned so as to be non-displaceable relative to one another in a horizontal plane. At least one distance dimension (L') between the fittings (2) of a pair of fittings (2, 2) differs from the associated edge dimension (L), preferably the length of the container (1), and corresponds to the corresponding distance between corner fittings of the containers of a container system having a plurality or multiplicity of containers of identical dimensions with corner fittings. A further subject-matter of the invention is a fitting for such a large container and a gripper device for transferring such a large container with such fittings. IMAGE
