An apparatus for the guidance and steering of workpiece carriers (1) in guide tracks (2), the workpiece carriers (1) resting on a conveying means (3), can be designed, without additional aids or auxiliary devices, for the deflection of the workpiece carriers and for simultaneous separation, in that a guide track (2) of the conveying means (3) is assigned a drivable rotary disc (4) with at least one open entry point (6) arranged on the circumference (5), the rotary disc (4) being provided on the circumference (5), as far as an exit point (8) into an outlet guide track (9), with a guide fence (10) located on one side or with a plurality of guide fences (10), depending on the conveying means (3).
