The invention relates to a method of identifying hdm-2-specific antibodies in body fluids. This method is characterized by the incubation, with body fluids, of hdm-2 bound to carrier material and/or fragments thereof endowed with binding sites for hdm-2-specific antibodies, and allowing the specific antibodies (a) bound to the hdm-2 and/or the fragments to react with: marked antibodies (b) directed against the antibodies (a), or unmarked antibodies (b) and the latter to react with marked antibodies (c) directed against antibodies (b). The invention also relates to kits which can be used for this process, hdm-2 fragments and the DNA sequences which code for them, the fragments being endowed with binding sites for hdm-2-specific antibodies, and processes for production thereof.
