Mechanical bonding of voluminous pile fabrics

Voluminous fabrics (9,10), pref. stitch bonded pile fabrics with pile loops or fibres, are bonded mechanically with stitches (16). Compound needles (1) penetrate the stitch layers (11,12) and/or the pile layers (13,14) of the fabrics (9,10) and draw out fibres from one or both pile layers (13,14) to form stitches (16) in a stitch layer (17).
