Safety interlock system with redundancy for industrial machinery

The safety system for machines and systems has an ON-switch, OFF-switch, and emergency cut-off switch in the control power circuit. In addition two or more auxiliary protection circuits are present, where by operating the emergency cut off switch a contact in the main power circuit is operated to remove a hazardous condition. The safety circuits (K01, K02) are arranged so that a sensor assembly (2), evaluation circuit (1) are associated so that operation of the sensor causes a contact in the main power circuit to operate. Multiple evaluation circuits may be used with multiple sensors. An optical or acoustic alarm (3) is also used.
