A house number lamp or signboard lamp uses a glowing fluorescent bulb behind the alphanumerics on the transparent cover. There is a movement detector for temporarily switching the main lighting on. The lamp is inserted in a perforated tubular housing with a plug. The bulb lies on a circuit board with a ballast resistance, and is held on with clips.
