PURPOSE:To contrive a reduction in residual stress in a short time and a higher productivity, by heating a molded article of a resin by far infrared rays of a frequency effective for the resin. CONSTITUTION:A molded article is not particularly limited, and may be any of molded articles of resins. The usable resins range widely from thermosetting to thermoplastic, and may be used either singly or in combination of two or more to be a resin composition, with or without a filler, a reinforcing agent or the like, as required. The resin molded article is heated rapidly to a temperature around an annealing temperature in a heater using far infrared rays of a frequency effective for the resin, and maintained at that temperature. The effective frequency for heating varies depending on the kind of the resin, additives, etc., and an optimum frequency is selected suitably according to the molded article. For instance, in the case of a molded article of a polycarbonate resin singly or of a resin composition containing a polycarbonate resin as a main constituent, heating by far infrared rays of a frequency of 1011 to 1014 is selected.
