The invention relates to organometallic complexes of vanadium or niobium, resulting from the reaction of 1 mol of metal derivative of vanadium or niobium, where the metal is found at the 4 or 5 oxidation state, with 1 to 3 mol of a dithiocarbamic acid or derivative of dithiocarbamic or of its salts including a IMAGE group where M is hydrogen, an alkali metal or an ammonium or alkylammonium group, it being possible for the said alkylammonium to contain one, two, three or four C1-C4 alkyl groups. It also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing the said complexes as active principle.
