The invention relates to a process for preparing a stable medicinal solution intended for oral administration, containing agents that control the release of the active component, wherein from 1 to 20 parts (by weight) of a beta-blocker in 100 parts of water are reacted with 0.001 to 10 parts of a polysaccharide, the temperature of the solution being maintained at 80@C for 20 minutes; the pH of the mixture is thereafter adjusted to within the range from 2 to 4.5 using a buffer system, and an antioxidant and a preservative are then added, so as to produce, on completion of the preparation with water, a solution suitable for oral administration.
