Apparatus for digging into the ground of the trenches of great depth, with the aid of the milling drums comprising a flat - shape (1) on which rest a lifting mast (3) articulated; a chassis (11) provided with milling drums (12) is suspended from the upper end (6) of the hoisting mast (3), which can be driven in rotation, a winder to a horizontal axis (23) located at the side of the hoisting mast (3), supporting a flexible pipe (24) in order to raise the cuttings, the median plane of the winder (23) which intersects the median plane of the hoisting mast (3) substantially along the vertical axis of the chassis (11); at least one group of rollers (19, 20) with a horizontal axis situated in - bottom of the hoisting mast (3), supporting the flexible pipes which lead to the chassis (11) in order to feed the latter and to ensure the positioning of the milling drums (12); a control station (25) of the device, situated at the side of the hoisting mast (3) and in front of the winder (23) of the pipe (24) of the winding of the excavated material; and a group (27) providing the energy necessary for the operation of the device, situated at the end of the flat - shape which is opposite to the chassis (11) supporting the milling drums (12).
