The present invention relates to compounds of the N-(arylmethylene)ethylenediaminetriacetate, N-(arylmethylene)iminodiacetate or N,N'-di(arylmethylene)ethylenediaminediacetate type and to their use against oxidative stress, as well as to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic compositions containing such compounds. It also relates to the process for the preparation of these compounds.
