The invention relates to a device for pretensioning film on a binder of the agricultural or industrial type. It consists of a roller (1) guided by two sliding rings (5) and (6) on guides (2) and (3). Pushed to the left by the user when the film is fitted before undertaking binding, the roller (1) around which the film is passed is equipped with tension springs (11) and (12) which become stretched during this operation. During the tilting the film is stretched out over a great length. When it returns to horizontal, the roller (1) slides to the right, thanks to the effect of the springs (11) and (12), thus allowing the film to be pretensioned before the next bale is bound. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for tensioning the film on a machine for binding bales of straw, fodder, ensilage and all agricultural products. IMAGE
