Reconstruction of acetabulum cavity during hip replacement

A cotyledon implant (8) in the shape of a semi-ellipsoid makes a revolution cup, which can be implanted into the cotyledon cavity of a hip joint. Its equatorial zone (9) can be impacted into the rim of the cavity. The diameters of the equatorial zone (D) are slightly larger than the diameter of the cavity. The outer face of the implant is coated with calcium hydroxyapatite.
