The acetabulum has a hemispherical convex external anchoring face (2) anchored in an acetabular cavity of pelvis of a patient, and a concave internal reception face (3) provided with an annular edge (4). An annular reception structure (6) is formed, so that an impactor is fixed to the annular reception structure for impaction of a metal insertion cup (1) in the acetabular cavity of the pelvis of the patient. The annular reception structure is located behind an opening plane (P). An installation and orientation insert is fixed to the external annular reception structure in a removable way. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a prosthetic hip acetabulum.
