The ship has a first storage hold entrance (10) and a second storage hold exit (12). The two holds are located in alignment with the ship longitudinal axis (28). There is a treatment workshop (36), also in alignment with the holds, and a moving deck (30) connecting the two storage holds to the workshop. The workshop is located on an intermediate deck and the moving deck can be raised between the two holds. There are hatchways (38) in the intermediate deck communicating directly with the workshop and the second hold. There are means for loading and unloading facing the moving deck and means for loading (20) facing the first hold and for unloading facing the second hold. A transport corridor (32), equipped with a conveyor belt, is located along the length of the two holds. It has a sufficient width to drive a motorised machine along the length of the ship. Ballast (34) is located symmetrically about the longitudinal axis.
