Very simple, highly accurate, battery charge condition monitor for small yachts

A battery charge condition monitor displays the charge state of a rechargeable battery, using indicator lights. The battery terminal voltage is compared with predetermined voltages on a potential divider and indicator lights are used to display the charge condition. A Hall sensor determines the direction of current through the battery leads and controls a MOSFET transistor to switch the divider resistance values in accordance therewith. IMAGE
