PURPOSE: To provide a user interface closer to the reality by conjecturing a target object on the basis of preshaping in a process for a man to grip an object in an artificial reality device. ;CONSTITUTION: Before gripping is achieved, space in which the target object exists is specified by information from a sight line detecting part 2 and a hand moving direction detecting part 7, and in addition, the object is conjectured by the shaping information of a hand from a hand shape detecting part 5, and on the basis of these results, the target object is conjectured by a target object specifying part 8.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
