PURPOSE: To effectively remove arsenic in water by using an adsorbent which electrolytic manganese dioxide is granulated to form as an arsenic adsorbing agent. ;CONSTITUTION: When purifying raw water taken in from a source such as surface water, underground water, spring water, infiltration water and lake muddy water contg. arsenic, the raw water is forwarded from a raw water tank 1 by a raw water pump 2 to an adsorber 8 packed with an adsorbent which electrolytic manganese dioxide is granulated to form, Since during that time, in order to oxidize and sterilize arsenic, sodium hypochlorite or the like is injected into a line as an oxidizing agent from a tank 3 by an oxidizing agent injection pump 4 and in order to microflocculate iron and manganese, PAC or the like is injected into the line as a coagulating agent from a tank 5 by a coagulating agent injection pump 6 to mix them by a pipe mixer 7. In the process in which the raw water is passed through the adsorber 8, arsenic, iron and manganese are adsorbed and removed on the electrolytic manganese dioxide adsorbent, and the treated water is separately transferred to a water purifying facility as purified water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
