It is intended to provide a method of increasing the seed methionine content (57) in the plant and [summary] chimeric gene. Chimeric gene can be methionine overexpress the rich maize seed storage proteins in plant seeds, and, by transforming the soybean and rapeseed in particular. I also provides plants and seeds containing the chimeric gene.
