CONSTITUTION: A short outer pipe 3 protruded from an end face 2a is fixed by welding to one end section of a steel pipe 1 of a service water pipe or a gas pipe buried by the jacking method. This steel pipe 1 is propelled and buried by a propelling jack provided in a starting vertical shaft, the next buried pipe 1 is connected and propelled after the steel pipe 1 is propelled by the prescribed distance, these actions are subsequently repeated in sequence, and the steel pipe 1 is propelled to the arrival shaft. When the succeeding pipe 1 is to be connected, the succeeding pipe 1 is inserted into the outer pipe 3, its end face 2 is brought into contact with the end face 2a of the preceding pipe 1, then the axes of both pipes 1 coincide for positioning. The infiltration of sediment is prevented, and the connection section is prevented from being separated by the soil pressure. The burying work can be quickly conducted.
