PURPOSE: To obtain a rolling mill lubricant for aluminum which is excellent in lubricity and oxidation resistance, does not corrode steel materials of a rolling mill, etc., and forms a stable emulsion. ;CONSTITUTION: This rolling mill lubricant for aluminum contains 1.0 mass % or higher sulfur and is prepd. by incorporating at least one compd. selected from among thioureas, thiazoles, sulfenamides, thiurams, dithiocarbamates, xanthates, benzimidazoles, mercaptans, and sulfides into the lubricant in such an amt. that the sulfur content becomes 1 mass % or higher or by replacing a part of a mineral oil contained. as the main component, in the lubricant with a sulfur-contg. mineral oil in such an amt. that the sulfur content becomes 1 mass % or higher.
