PURPOSE: To measure the concentration of a Cyanophta plankton in water and further the concentrations of other plant planktons. ;CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring the concentration of a plant plankton comprises irradiating the plant plankton in water with light having an excitation wave length range of 570-645nm, detecting the strength of fluorescent light generated from the plant plankton on the irradiated light and having wave lengths in a range of 580-660nm, irradiating the plant plankton with light having an excitation wave length range of 400-500nm, detecting the strength of fluorescent light generated from the plant plankton on the irradiated light and having wave lengths in a range of 660-700nm, performing the detections from a direction crossing the direction of the excitation light, respectively, and determining the concentration of Cyanophta plankton and the concentrations of Chlortcphyceae plankton and Diatomaceae plankton, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
