PURPOSE: To make it possible to protect the human body against the heavy load of collapsing house ruins, internal and external falling objects and fires and to safe the life by openably and closably connecting the top ends of metallic or wooden rectangular plates by means of plural hinges, thereby immediately taking out these plates and opening the plates to a roof form to cover the human body in the event of the earthquake. ;CONSTITUTION: The rectangular metallic or wooden plates 3, 4 are formed to the roof-shaped triangular shape strong to the heavy load of the collapsing houses and buckling and are formed to the size and rigidity sufficient to protect the human body by opening the plates with a push spring 9. Two pieces of belts 6 tough to the opening threshold are disposed at the bottom ends of the plates 3, 4 and are fixed to both ends of the plate. The top ends of the opened plates 3, 4 are provided with the spring 9 and a stopper 10. The plates and nonwoven fabric in the positions of the human eyes are bored with peep windows 7 and the escape to the outside is made convenient by noncombustible and transparent films. While the plates 3, 4 may be formed of metallic plates, such as corrugated iron plates, these plates are formed of veneers or laminates at about a thickness of 2 to 3cm to sufficiently withstand the heavy load of the ruins of two to three stories and to sufficiently withstand the falling of the middle to small splinters of concrete.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
