CD-ROM INFORMATION RETRIEVAL DEVICE OF OTHER LANGUAGES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract desired information that is written in an operator's own language and the operator's own desired form from a CD-ROM that is expressed in other language than a language going to be used by the user by extracting data which are expressed in a prescribed language from the CD-ROM that is written in the other language and providing an output of the extracted data. SOLUTION: The retrieval device is provided with a processing unit 3, a display device 5, a key board 7, a mouse 8, a CD-ROM device 9, an extended flexible disk device 11, and a printer 1. Then the CD-ROM device 9 reads a CD-ROM 15 and the extended flexible disk device(FD) 11 reads/writes a flexible disk 17. The processing unit 3 extracts data written in other language from the CD-ROM 15 and the extracted data are converted into language data written in the prescribed language. Then the data are printed out by the printer 13 or outputted by the FD 11.
