摘要

PURPOSE: To predict the end of service life of cation-exchange resin by treating the cation-exchange resin with a solution of oxidizing agent to accelerate deterioration of the cation-exchange resin and then evaluating the effect thereof on an anion-exchange resin. ;CONSTITUTION: A cation-exchange resin to be evaluated is thrown into a test tube 8 along with a mixed anion-exchange resin 9 having undeteriorated performance. An aqueous solution of oxidizing agent is then fed from a tank 1 of aqueous solution of oxidizing agent into the test tube 8 through a water supply pump 4. Subsequently, water containing salts is fed from a tank 2 of water containing salts into the test tube 8 through a water supply pump 5. Electrical conductivity of the treating water and the quantity of water leak ions are then measured and the timing for replacing the cation-exchange resin is determined based on the measurements.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
