PURPOSE: To provide a water depth detector, which is compact and can detect the water depth stably in high accuracy. ;CONSTITUTION: An oscillator 2 is provided, and a frequency variable part 3 having a variable capacitor, which constitutes a part or all of the LC resonance circuit of the oscillator 2, is connected to the oscillator 2. The capacitance of the variable capacitor is changed in correspondence with the water depth. The oscillator 2 outputs the detected water depth signal having the frequency corresponding to the capacitance into an FV converter 11 of a converting part 4. The FV converter 11 converts the detected water depth signal into voltage corresponding to the frequency and outputs it to a straight-line correcting part 12. The straight-line correcting part 12 linearly corrects the voltage-converted detected water-depth signal and outputs the result to an A/D converter 13. The A/D converter 13 converts the detected water depth signal into the digital signal and outputs the signal to a control part 14. The control part 14 computes the water depth from the digital detected water-depth signal and displays the signal on a display part 5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
