SURFACE-MOUNTING TYPE TOROIDAL COIL AND MOUNTING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: To enhance a toroidal coil in workability and mounting stability when it is mounted on a board. ;CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin case 5 is provided with eight terminals 3 located at different points, a circular hole 5h on its upside, and a cylindrical inner wall with an open base. A toroidal coil 4 is housed in the synthetic resin case 5 making its outline coming into contact with the inner wall by a frictional force and a small elastic force. The lead wire 4a of the toroidal coil 4 is put through the hole 5h and soldered to the prescribed terminal 3. A surface- mounting type toroidal coil is manufactured as mentioned above. When the toroidal coil is mounted on a board, the coil is soldered by a reflow soldering method, and adhesive and thermal conductive resin 6 is poured into the case 5 through the hole 5h to enable the toroidal coil to be mechanically fixed and enhanced in heat dissiapting properties.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
