PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent short circuiting between a flat coil and a terminal.;SOLUTION: A surface-mounting inductor comprises a flat coil 1, having a circularly wound coil member 7 together with draw-out members 8, 9, arranged respectively at the starting end and the finishing end of the winding of the coil member 7, where the draw-out member 8 at the start end of the winding is drawn out from the inner-diameter side of the coil member 7 so as to traverse the coil member 7, a pot core 2 having a columnar central core 11 which is inserted into the flat coil 1 to support the flat coil 1 and a coil accommodating member 12, arranged in the periphery of the central core 11 to accommodate the flat coil 1, and terminals 3, 4 attached to the outer surface of the pot core 2 and to which the draw-out member 8 at the start end and the draw-out member 9 at the finishing end of the flat coil 1 are respectively connected. By forming a relief 14, that relieves the draw-out member 8 of the start end in the central core 11, a gap 15 is assured between the flat coil 1 and the terminal 3 to prevent short circuiting between the two.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
