POLARIZATION OF PIEZOELECTRIC BODY, PIEZOELECTRIC BODY POLARIZATION DEVICE AND MANUFACTURE OF PIEZOELECTRIC BODY

PURPOSE: To provide a method of polarizing a piezoelectric body, which can prevent a crack in the piezoelectric body though each part of the piezoelectric body is polarized in order by an oblique polarization method, and to provide a polarization device. ;CONSTITUTION: A piezoelectric body 1, provided with a plurality of conductor layers 2a arranged in one direction on one surface in the thickness direction of the body 1 and a plurality of conductor layers 2b arranged in one direction on the other surface in the thickness direction of the body 1, is prepared, a voltage is applied to the prescribed conductor layer 2a out of the conductor layers 2a and the prescribed conductor layer 2b positioned obliquely with respect to this prescribed conductor layer 2a, out of the conductor layers 2b and moreover, a combination of the prescribed conductor layers 2a and 2b is changed in order to polarize each part of the piezoelectric body 1 obliquely tot he arrangement direction and the thickness direction. After a polarization of each part of the body 1 ends, the applying voltage is increased to repeat the same polarization process. Thereby, a crack can be prevented in the body 1. Moreover, a thin-walled piezoelectric body may be laminated to this body 1 as a method other than this method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
