PURPOSE: To obtain a soft lining material which prevents the propagation of bacteria to soft substance, obviates the discoloration of sclerotic substance and prevents the elution of silver ions outside the soft substance by adding a phosphate-based silver compd. formed by subjecting a part of inorg. crystals to an ion exchange with silver ions as an antimicrobial component into a soft resin. ;CONSTITUTION: This soft lining material is mounted at the mucous membrane surface of, for example, a resin dental plate and acts to impart a cushion property to make up the viscoelasticity of the lost alveolar ridge mucous menabrane and to relieve the impact at the time of occlusion. In such a case, the antimicrobial soft lining material is composed by incorporating the phosphate- based silver compd. expressed by formula: AgaXbM2(Po4)3 as the antimicrobial component into the soft lining material. In the formula, X is an alkaline metal ion, ammonium ion or hydrogen ion ; M is a quadrivalent TV metal of perioaic table, (a) and (b) are positive integers satisfying a0, a+b=1.
