PURPOSE: To early and properly detect a system as an error cause, regarding a plant control device equipped with a plurality of control systems for controlling different process variables. CONSTITUTION: Each of a plurality of control systems is formed out of controllers 111, 121 and 131 to control a control variable at a target value, actuators 112, 122 and 132 operated, depending on output signals therefrom, sensors 117, 127 and 137 to detect an operation variable controlled under the operation of the actuators 112, 122 and 132, and sensors 114, 124 and 134 to detect control variables. Furthermore, an error judgement means 141 is provided for identifying an erroneous system through the collation thereof with the preliminarily saved error identification pattern, on the basis of the combination of fluctuation modes of operation and control variables detected from each system during operation. An acquisition means 171 detects a fluctuation mode appearing in the operation and control variables of each control system before a plant operation, with the prescribed control system assumed as erroneous, thereby acquiring the error identification pattern.
