PURPOSE: To fit a sliding member in a fixed position or simply replace the same by engaging the side surfaces of a sliding member with an inwardly projecting walls or edges of a recessed part for storing a friction-reducing sliding member made of synthetic plastic material. CONSTITUTION: Sliding members 4, 5 made of synthetic plastic material are disposed in an elongated recessed part 3 of a sliding chair 2 on a rib plate 1. In the recessed part 3, an unoccupied portion 6 including a vertical wall part 7 is formed, and in the other recessed part 3, a wall 7 inwardly projecting is formed extending over the remaining peripheral part, and the side surfaces 8 of the sliding members 4, 5 having a trapezoidal section are engaged with the periphery. The shorter sliding member 5 is inserted in the recessed part 3, and then the longer sliding member 4 is introduced in a position 6 of an end part 12 confronting with a female gap 10 to be engaged along a shorter portion positioned in the vicinity of the end part 11, thereby inhibiting lifting motion.
