PURPOSE: To provide a line for light soliton transmission which may be constituted by using pieces of optical fibers having various dispersion values and is cost effective and practicable and to provide a transmission line which allows the easy diversion and use of the existing optical fibers as the light soliton transmission line and is capable of greatly increasing the transmission capacity of the already laid optical fibers. ;CONSTITUTION: The optical fibers of the light soliton transmission line composed by using the optical fibers are constituted by the pieces F₁, F₂, F₃,...F_n of the plural optical fibers in such a manner that the average value D_ave of the group speed dispersion of the optical fibers determined with respect to the total transmission distance attain abnormal dispersion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
