PURPOSE: To reduce the problem of timing jitter in a soliton transmission system by arranging an optical fiber at a specified position along with the transmission medium of an optical wave system. ;CONSTITUTION: The solution pulse of light radiation is generated at a nominal soliton center frequency by a transmitter 10 and that pulse is coupled by a transmission medium for which a large number of optical fibers 11 and optical amplifiers/filters 12 (12-1 to 12-N) are arranged at prescribed intervals. The pulse is passed through the transmission medium and detected by a receiver 13 later. In this case, the respective optical amplifiers of filters 12 are respectively set to a nominal filter center frequency. At this time, the nominal filter center frequency is adjusted by deliberately out of a reference frequency just by a specified change amount. For example, the center frequency of an optical filter is mutually different and also different from the nominal center frequency of soliton at the time, when the soliton is discharged to the suitable part of that transmission system.
