PURPOSE: To control the angle of an array oscillator to a subject to a set angle, and improve the flaw detecting precision by detecting the angle of the array oscillator by an encoder, and performing a feedback control by a feedback control circuit. ;CONSTITUTION: A probe 1 is set on the surface of a subject, and a voltage is applied to an oscillator 2 by an ultrasonic flaw detector 8 to generate an ultrasonic wave. This ultrasonic wave is incident on the subject, and reflected by the reverse surface or flaw part of the subject. The reflected wave again enters into the probe 1 from the contact surface of the probe 1, and received by the oscillator 2. A sound velocity measuring instrument 10 judges the sound velocity, and transmits this value to a target angle setter 11. The setter 11 calculates the angle to inspecting surface of the oscillator 2 from the sound velocity, and transmits this angle to a motor controller 12 as the angle set value of the oscillator 2 to control a motor 5. The control angle by the motor 5 is detected by an encoder 14, this value is returned to the setter 11, the difference with the target angle is calculated, and a feedback control 15 is performed so that the difference is zero.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
