FIXED STATION FOR DIFFERENTIAL GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To transmit error information for differential GPS of a large quantity at a high speed to a mobile unit by using an FM broadcasting. ;CONSTITUTION: A reference station 10 in a base station 100 calculates the error of a position measured value obtained by receiving a radiowave from a GPS satellite from a true position. Fixed station information including the calculated error information and health information of all GPS satellites is minimum- transition-keying-modulated by using 75kHz subcarrier by an organizer and a modulator 14, and transmitted to a mobile unit 200 via an FM transmitter 16 and an antenna 18. The fixed station information is demodulated by the FM multiplex receiver 22 of the unit 200, and output to a DGPS receiver 20. The receiver 20 corrects the error information for transmitting the measured position value calculated based on the radiowave from the GPS satellite, and calculates the true position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
