PURPOSE: To obtain a new herquline B, having inhibiting actions on blood platelet agglutination and useful for treating thromboembolism, inflammation, ischemic cardiopathy, etc. ;CONSTITUTION: This herquline B is expressed by the formula. The compound is obtained by inoculating a microorganism capable of producing the herquline B, e.g. Penicillium herquei Fg-372 strain (FERM P-14760) into a culture medium containing a nutrient source, culturing the microorganism under aerobic conditions, then extracting the resultant cultured product with an organic solvent, treating the prepared extract by a chromatography and collecting the herquline B.
