PURPOSE:To simultaneously execute creep tests with plural test pieces by providing plural supporting means having driving devices to insert and detach the test pieces into and from the inside of a furnace body. CONSTITUTION:Various kinds of test pieces which are different in characteristics such as components and density are disposed on a base 24 on the supporting means 14 and the inside of the electric furnace 11 is heated up. The means 14 are then risen by a motor 18 to insert the test pieces 27 into the furnace 11. Prescribed stresses are applied to the respective test pieces 27 from a pushing rod 29 of a loading device via an upper loading means 28 at the point of the time when a prescribed temp. is attained. The motor 18 is driven upon lapse of the prescribed time to lower the base 24. The test pieces on the base 24 detached to the outside of the furnace 11 are changed with the fresh test pieces and the test pieces are inserted into the furnace 11. The creep test at the prescribed temp. is immediately continued by applying the stresses from the rod 29.
