CONNECTING MEMBER PREVENTING SPALLING OF EXISTING MORTAR AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR PREVENTING SPALLING

PURPOSE: To prevent spalling by holding existing mortar by means of a bifurcated shaft inserted into a hole bored in a concrete body from the surface of existing finish mortar and a rod-shaped locking member for connection to a bulge provided in the shaft. ;CONSTITUTION: A hole H is bored continuously in existing mortar M and a concrete body P. After an existing organic finish paint in a predetermined range around the hole H is removed, a horizontal straight groove R is cut around the hole H, and then the hole H and the groove R are packed with an adhesive A. Then a rod-shaped locking member 5 is connected to the circular bulge 3 of a hairpin-shaped bifurcated shaft 4 having flexibility, is inserted into the hole H and the groove R and held in position. After polymer cement mortar is applied to the mortar M, reinforcing nets are attached to points on the surface of the polymer cement mortar. Then the nets are pressed and embedded into the polymer cement mortar to give the mortar M the property of a plate.
