PURPOSE: To improve the CE resistance and wear resistance of a Cr-Ni precipitation hardening type martensitic stainless steel while its high strength and toughness are maintained. ;CONSTITUTION: This high toughness martensitic stainless steel has a compsn. contg., by weight, ≤0.05% C, ≤1.0% Si ≤1.0$% Mn, ≤5 0% Cu, 1.5 to 7.0% Ni; 12.0 to 17.5% Cr, 0 to 2.0% Mo (including the case of no addition) and ≤0.02% N, in which the contents of the same elements satisfy the following inequality, and the balance substantially Fe with inevitable impurities; where the inequality is expressed by 27.6≤Cr (%)+1.3×Mo (%)+1.5×Si (%)+2×Ni (%)+0.7×Cu (%)+68×C (%)+54×N (%) ≤31.6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
