METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING ATRIAL STIMULATION IN A DOUBLE ATRIAL TRIPLE CHAMBER CARDIAC PACEMAKER

PURPOSE: To provide a double atrial triple chamber cardiac pacemaker which almost completely resolves recurrent AT caused by unknown factors relating to conventional devices of this kind. ;CONSTITUTION: This is to disclose a control method of a double atrial triple chamber cardiac pacemaker having right and left atrium electrodes connected to the same atrium circuit for detection/stimulation of cardiac atria and an ventricle electrode connected to the ventricle circuit for detection/stimulation of the ventricle of the heart. This control method consists of the following steps; in an input of the atrium circuit and ventricle circuit, sequential depolarization signals are received and too early characteristics of the depolarization signals detected by the input of the atrium circuit is determined. Where too early characteristics is determined, the signals detected by the input of the atrium circuit is examined in terms of the pre-determined attendant window time. Where the atrium signals are received, the entire concerning atrium stimulation is suppressed and where atrium signals are not detected, atrium stimulation is performed in both atria at the termination of the attendant window time. Where too early characteristics is not detected, atria stimulation is instantly performed in both atria in synchronization with the detected atrium depolarization signals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
