PURPOSE: To eliminate an additional setting-out work and automate an accurate and quick a setting-out work in a horizontal direction by using differential pressure corresponding to a level difference between a spirit level placed at an arbitrary level, and a pressure sensor at arbitrary height as a reference value. ;CONSTITUTION: Water 9 is sealed in a synthetic resin tube 8 as a communication pipe and its one end is connected to the bottom 10b of a spirit level 7. The other end 8b of the tube 8 is closed with a pressure sensor 11. In this case, the spirit 7 is made of a box type pan 10 of large diameter and sturdy structure sealing the water 9 in such state as free from a concern about leakage. A microcomputer 12 assembled into the sensor 11 computes and determines the mid-range of the waveform of output voltage according to installed software. Also, the computer 12 sets a differential pressure on the basis of a level difference (h), with the spirit 7 placed at an arbitrary height and the sensor 11 adjusted to positioning level A, as a reference value. The spirit 7 is placed on a common level floor and the sensor 11 at arbitrary height desired for positioning, thereby setting the reference value. Thereafter, the sensor 11 is moved and made to output a signal within the reach of the tube 8, and the 'zero', 'low (high)' and 'positive (negative)' values are used at the same level as corresponding to the reference value, thereby eliminating an additional setting-out work and obtaining ceiling level, intermediate level and so forth.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
