摘要
PURPOSE: To judge the definite effectiveness (or efficacy) of a drug on collected microorganisms. ;CONSTITUTION: A filtration film is placed on a culture vessel filled with a culture medium containing a drug to be tested, and a clinical bacterium is dropped on the film to proliferate in a usual manner. Then, the culture mixture is subjected to the ATP extraction process and the fluorescent process where the luciferin-luciferase luminescent reagent is sprayed to emit light and the results: whether luminescence occurs or not and intensity of the luminescence are determined by an image analyzer. When the specimen drug is ineffective, the clinical bacterium normally proliferates and a marked bioluminescence based on the ATP from the vial bacterium cells is detected as a glowing point by the RMDS method. In the meantime, when the drug is effective, the clinical bacterium does not normally proliferate and the bioluminescence cannot be detected based on the ATP from the vial bacterium cells. The drugs can be judged based on these two phenomena. Even when the culture hours are short, the judgment can be made distinctively depending on whether the bioluminescence is observed or not.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
