PURPOSE:To solve a drag phenomenon of a load and a loss time problem due to a delay of action of a reach cylinder by enabling reach action to be performed of a fork in a condition that a retainer plate of a load stabilizer releases the load from its stop catching. CONSTITUTION:In this reach type forklift, a sensor 23, detecting a load for its stop catching, is provided in a retainer plate 20 of a load stabilizer 15, and an electric circuit, for controlling a cargo handling oil hydraulic pump or a solenoid hydraulic control valve, is to be placed in an inoperative condition being based on an output signal from this sensor 23. Accordingly, in a load stop caught condition that the load on a fork 9 is pressed by the retainer plate 20 of the load stabilizer 15, no working fluid is supplied to a reach cylinder 10 even when a reach cargo handling lever is controlled. That is, the reach action of the fork 9 is not performed, in a condition of the load being pressed by the retaining plate 20, but can be performed by the reach cylinder 10 in a condition of the load released from its stop pressing.
