PURPOSE: To attain efficient and perfect combustion of pulverized coal by inserting a lance with the tip part cut off into a specific shape into a blow pipe for tuyere at a specific angle, at the time of blowing the pulverized coal from the tuyere of a blast furnace. ;CONSTITUTION: At the time of blowing the pulverized coal from the tuyere of the blast furnace, after diagonally cutting off the tip part at the specific angle, the lance 1 for blowing the pulverized coal is inserted in the inner part of the blow pipe 2 communicating with the tuyere, and hot blast is blown into the blow pipe 2 against the tuyere and also, the pulverized coal is ejected from the tip part of the lance 1. The tip part of the lance 1 is cut off so that the angle θ of the tip part to the perpendicular line in the axial direction satisfies 1/cos.θ≥2, and the lance 1 is inserted into the blow pipe 2 to the direction so that the angle formed by the cur-off surface and the blow pipe 2 becomes the max. on almost the same plane of the perpendicular line of the cut-off surface with the axial line of the blow pipe 2 and the axial line of the lance 1. The combustion rate of the pulverized coal is improved and it can be avoided that the operation of the blast furnace becomes unstable by reduction in the gas ventilation in the blast furnace caused by unburnt pulverized coal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
