OUTLINE FONT EXTENSION METHOD AND OUTLINE FONT EXTENSION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reproduce the original line width of an outline font by adding a specific value to the coordinate of the main-scanning direction of the outline font. CONSTITUTION:A painting-out table part 3 divides an outline font into vector strings being continuous in a sub-scanning direction based on vector data of outline data storage part 1 and sets scan starting position information and scan completion position information following to the order of the sub-scanning direction in a painting-out table at every vector string and also sets the coordinates of a main scanning direction with respect to scan starting position information as the initial value of present intersection information between scanning lines in the painting-out table at every vector string. Moreover, the part 3 calculates the number of moved dots to the main scanning direction at the time the scanning is moved in the sub-scanning direction by one dot as a unit change amount at every vector string to set it in the painting-out table and also forms the painting-out table by adding a value obtained by dividing the unit change amount by 2 to the initial value of the present intersection information at every vector string.
