PURPOSE:To provide an environment recognition device to prevent mis-judgement in picture processing by reporting the change of the fixing position of a picture sensor, correcting a fixing posture, or correcting picture data and so forth in the case that the fixing position of the picture sensor changes from an initial set position with the passage of time because of vibration and contact, etc. CONSTITUTION:The picture sensor 2 is installed so that a fixing position recognition mark 5 comes into an image pickup area 4, and simultaneously, a means 7 to recognize and compare a mark position to be image-picked up successively by the picture sensor 2 with the initial position of the recognition mark 5 in the image pickup area 4 is provided, and in the case that the mark position recognized successively changes from the initial set position, output to give an instruction that the fixing position of the picture sensor 2 is improper and need be corrected is issued. Thus, even in the case that the recogniting position of the picture sensor 2 changes from the initial set position with the passage of time, the mis-judgement in the picture processing can be prevented.
