PURPOSE: To provide a linear motor system elevator apparatus in which a braking reaction along a rail guide surface of a brake device attached to an elevator body does not act directly on a press member of the brake device. ;CONSTITUTION: A guide 15 to make a brake piece 10 engage with a brake arm 9 of a braking device 13 and hold the brake piece 10 displaceable in the direction orthogonal to a rail duide surface is provided on a frame body 14 of an elevator body 4. A braking reaction acting on the brake piece 10 in braking along the guide surface of a rail 1 is supported by the guide 15. Thus, a press member of the braking device 13 is miniaturized, lightened and simplified in composition, so that the production cost is reduced and a braking action with high stability and reliability is attained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
