PRODUCTION OF POLYURETHANE COATING FILM-WATERPROOFING MATERIAL CURABLE RAPIDLY AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject waterproofing material capable of giving coating film highly resistant to heat and water through rapidly curing even without using any organometallic catalyst and capable of preserving pot-life, esp. suitable for hand coating operation, by using a highly safe aromatic polyamine crosslinking agent alternative to 4,4'-methylene-bis(2-chloroaniline) as a specified chemical substance. CONSTITUTION: A main agent consisting of an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer as the reaction product of tolylene diisocyanate and a polyoxypropylene polyol and/or a polyoxyethylenepropylene polyol is mixed with a curing agent comprising an aromatic polyamine crosslinking agent consisting of diethyltoluenediamine and a plasticizer at an application site, followed by coating the mixture and curing it at an execution site. The amount of the plasticizer to be used is set at 20-130 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the main agent prepolymer, and the mixing of the main agent with the curing agent is controlled so as to be 0.8-2.0 in the equivalent ratio of the NCO group in the prepolymer to the NH2 group of the aromatic polyamine.
