PURPOSE: To provide a masking sheet for printing a picture pattern by using which the picture pattern can be printed inexpensively and clearly in printing the picture pattern on a small lot article and a method for printing the picture pattern on the article by using the masking sheet. CONSTITUTION: A masking sheet for printing a picture pattern on an article characterized by laminating a heat-resistant sheet 1 as the first layer, a base material sheet 2 as the second layer and a thermoplastic resin 3 as the third layer in this order is provided and a picture pattern is cut into the masking sheet and after only a part not to be colored of the article is covered with the masking sheet, a part uncovered with the masking sheet of the article is colored.
